![]() Why Dentures? When you are missing a tooth, things begin to happen in your mouth. A single tooth is not only anchored into your jaw bone, it helps keep the surrounding teeth in place. When a missing tooth is left untreated, the supporting jaw bone begins to deteriorate over time. Additionally, your other teeth will begin to shift into the missing space which can result in a misaligned bite. This has a domino effect on your oral health. Misaligned teeth can lead to uneven and premature wear on your remaining teeth, TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder) and even the loss of additional teeth. Therefore, our office strongly recommends that you consider prosthetic teeth. What Are The Options? If you're missing just a tooth or two, we can look at whether or not you qualify for dental implants or even a bridge. Dentures are also an option for missing one or all of your teeth. Dentures are recommended if you've already suffered from some bone loss in your jaw or if you need to replace an entire arch of your teeth. Our dentists will work with you to find the best option to restore your smile and maintain a healthy mouth! Missing a tooth is a normal thing, so don't feel embarrassed or ashamed to call our office. We're here to help you and get you back to living (and eating) normally as soon as possible! Call us today for a consultation and we'll discuss your options. |
